Does this actually work?
I have terrible signal in my room which is around 20-25 ft away from the router. I was going to buy a new router but i thought it might be useful testing out other solutions. I tried tinfoil behind the router (worked for a bit) but now i get 40% signal in my room. Now i'm going to try this "Edimax 7dbi Indoor Antenna" or any HGA antenna for that matter. I was wondering if this particular model will be able to connect to my Micronet SP906GK wlan pci card. Because my router's antenna won't unscrew i thought the Edimax antenna could connect to my wlan card rather than the router. If this model won't connect to my pci card, could you suggest some that will, or another option to boost the signal in my room (not a repeater unless it's cheap, around £20-30) or even a good long range router. Going by the picture of your LAN card it should work. I'm surprised your router doesn't have detachable antenna or antenna's...if there is more than one try one of the others. I've seen wireless routers were only one or the two (or 3) antennas are screw on. Yes the 7Dbi gain antennas work . The output power determines the distance it can transmit (on the router) and on the Receiver, the most direct line of sight determines the best chance for receiving a signal. most "wireless" don't like having a lot of metal in the line of sight from antenna to antenna.
