Your configuration looks good.
I have only one concern with the Configuration. And it is with RAM. 2 GB RAM is very good for WinXP Operating System. When it comes to Vista, then 2 GB RAM is little less.
I have a laptop with similar configuration. And the start up time with Win-Vista is really very poor. Also, some of the applications are have poor performance on Vista (especially the visual/video/games etc).
In all the configuration is perfect for WinXP or Linux OS. However for Win-Vista, the RAM is little too less.
Hence My suggestion is to go for higher RAM [4 GB should be fine]. Rest looks perfect.
