Wireless Routers: Options That Come With DLinks DI-634M MIMO Wireless Router
If you are interested in purchasing a new wireless router you should consider DLINK's DI-634M. Many wireless routers such as the Linksys WRT54g have been on the market for many years which lack the speed and coverage of newer MIMO enabled routers.
Features:
MIMO - MIMO means (MULTI in MULTI out), this gives on the router to deliver and receive doubly fast as a non- MIMO router. MIMO technology will be a perhaps the new 802.11n standard that is being determined by way of the IEEE. MIMO technology is likewise in Wi -MAX routers as also. MIMO isn't going to give your router the chance to cover large number of larger areas by it will enhance your signal quality and speed of transmission. Still inside an average size house you will be able to receive an excellent signal any place in your home, basement or even the backyard with proper placement.
Wireless Antennas - These antennas are not just your ordinary rubber duck antennas. They can be actually four antennas two vertical and also horizontal. Four antennas delivering a blazing fast speed spread evenly on all directions.
VOIP - This router was created to take care of VOIP. Many router are convinced that VOIP will work on their own router although the DI-634M blows them. The prevailing concern that to VOIP should be to save a lot off your phone bill. I was paying $70 on a monthly basis with the phone company and from now on use VOIP and just pay $30. I've tried using VOIP with numerous other wireless routers but the bandwidth is needed up.
Security - Security measures in this router include:
1.MAC address filtering - Limits the computers you want or wouldn't like to access the network
2.WEP,WPA,WPA2 - WPA2 will be the highest form of wireless security out their for wireless routers. WEP is a weaker method of security with flaw resulting from it's reuse of encryption keys. WPA2 rotates the keys which does not allow cracker hack your whole body.
3.TKIP - Encryption is due to conjunction with WPA2, in case your gamming you'll wan't make use of TKIP because AES does use more bandwidth.
4.AES (Advanced encryption standard) - Holy crap you will need like five degrees and 30 computers to compromise this kind of encryption. A common draw back is all users might not be best with it, and yes it does reduce the network some.
QOS- Quality of Services is focused on regulation the amount bandwidth each application uses. You don't wish lime wire or kazzaa eating up any bandwidth bankruptcy lawyer las vegas trying to get Steelers tickets. So, if you find yourself sharing your online relationship with multiple users it is possible to limit just how much their file sharing software utilizes. Also you may choose to dedicate more bandwidth to gamming programs.
VPN - Starting a VPN server to your house network or an SSH server is crucial. If you have to get around a firewall or proxy server you may need a remote connection. DLINks DI-634M will continue to work with a VPN.
The DLINK DI-634M has all of the features you have to be seeking in a very wireless router. MIMO to extend your wireless signal's range and signal quality. VOIP that may conserve a huge amount of money on phone bills and free good way. All the latest safety measures from WEP to WPA-RADIUS. Like I said before to compromise WPA2 you must be an uber hacker who's a ton of time and a lot of computer power to crack it. Finally QOS should you be sharing your signal with the brother that's sucking up your bandwidth buy this router and have control over it.
I have a Belkin Wireless G plus MIMO router which I use at home to connect to the net. Problems are:-?
a) when I power up my laptop and try to connect, the wireless Connection Status (on Windows) says "connected", but it seems as if the laptop and the router are talking, but the is no current coming from the ISP. I have to reset the router. Sometimes I have to do this again and again.
b) Sometimes when I am connected, the router will suddenly cut off, and the blinking light on the router will no longer be blinking. Again, I have to reset the router.
c) I am connected and after a while the is no movement online and if I try to open a page it tells me "cannot find server", as if it's offline, but it hasnt yet disconnected.
What could be causing these things to happen? Is the router faulty? There is no real disturbance in my house which is quite open plan, no major walls and the router is centrally located within the house.
Cheers for any help.
