Having trouble installing Windows 7 drivers for Realtek USB Wireless WiFi LAN Adapter?
It is a GSKY High Power 500mW 27dBm 802.11b/g USB Wireless WiFi LAN Adapter With High Gain 7dBi Panel Antenna, I bought it from amazon.com read the reviews that the drivers from the installation CD had trouble with Win7, but that they are easy to download and everything from the company's site. Well I figured I was tech-savy enough to step up to such an easy task... I was wrong.
The website is under RTL8187L: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=2&PNid=1&PFid=1&Level=6&Conn=5&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true#351
I tried unzipping it with the trial version of WINRAR which has never failed me before, but if just came up with a ton of errors, and so far I have nothing....
Any help anyone?
Now that I got it unzipped correctly I can make the device take the update. It just says that Windows has determined it is already up to date...
Which package for Win7 did you get? There are two under the 8187L for Win7 one with the installer and one with the UI and Driver only. The full "installer" is BETA and was just released, get the UI and Driver package. Also you didn't say if it was for Win7 32 or 64 bit I suspect the packages may work for either BUT that is not stated clearly on the Realtek site so you may want to check.
PS - you are not the only one with the issue on that device, check a search using "realtek RTL8187L windows 7 driver" all sorts of listings and issues.
Add in edit - I just tried the Install package and it all downloaded and unzipped correctly, can't try it but it did unzip with all files.
