not displaying images on websites?
Hi, my old modem stopped working so i started uisng another dsl wifi modem. all my IM applications load and web pages. although some pages didn't load images e.g real estate websites and google images. So i turned off my firewall on my wifi modem. now everything is loading fast and i can view any website. I just would like to have the firewall on for extra security but also be able to view images on websites. any advice?
Most of these firewalls are configurable. config the firewall on the modem config page, probably under advanced setup. allow
* http ( port 80 )
* https (port 443 )
* ftp ( port 80 )
and deny the others.
if its not configurable, then simply disable it, and instead use Windows firewall, or some other 3rd party firewall like ESET NOD, or McAfee, or something else.
dont worry, they are all software based firewalls, and work at the same stage and strengh.
